We have the peak of summer here, hot days for light and healthy meals. July is finally the time of harvest, which records the preparation of food from fresh ingredients. Here are some tips that you should not miss this season.
Fresh side dish to meat
The meat is digested for a long time and therefore it is good not to burden the body with heavy side dishes. Skip pastries and friez, choose fresh salads and vegetables instead. Vegetables also contain a lot of fiber and support digestion. Prepare a fresh summer salad from fresh ingredients directly from the garden. Finally it's here - a season of fresh peas and green beans. Fry these great ingredients in butter. Serve with pepper or roquefort sauce.
Zucchini in all ways
Zucchini will also turn green in the flower beds. Eat them until they are fragile and young. Don't be afraid to taste their flowers either, they are great fried in batter or stuffed with a cheese mixture. As a side dish, take roasted young onions, which still have not lost any of their distinctive taste.
Probably the most famous cold soup is gazpacho - a cream of tomatoes and peppers flavored with lime, which we know from Spain. The Bulgarian tarator soup is also amazingly fresh, reminiscent of diluted tzatziki with the ingredients used. We can't forget the sweet fruit soups, which you can serve as a non-traditional dessert in summer.
Whether you fishing yourself or not, treat yourself to fresh fish in the summer. There are a lot of ways to prepare it, for example, fish in papillote with summer herbs, vegetables and white wine. The fish prepared in this way is very delicious and you could say that this is the best thing you can do with fresh fish.
