Ingredients

  • MEATLOAF
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup dried breadcrumbs
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • MEATLOAF SAUCE
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Cooking guidelines

Preheat the oven to 350°F/175°C.

Take a large bowl and place in it the ground beef, egg, chopped onion and milk. Mix thoroughly until all of the ingredients come together. Add the bread or cracker crumbs, depending on which you prefer. Season the mixture well with salt and pepper.

Now you can choose whether to pat the beef mixture into a loaf and place it onto a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking dish or use a 5x9 inch loaf pan and spread the mixture evenly in it.

In a small clean bowl, combine the ketchup, mustard and brown sugar until the sauce is silky and uniform in color. Pour the sauce over your meatloaf.

Place your baking dish or loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for about 1 hour or until your meat is fully cooked through and juices run clear.
