Fried onion rings can be served as an appetizer. They are also suitable as a delicacy with beer or wine. Carefully cut the peeled onions into regular rings. Season them with salt and sprinkle with a little semi-coarse flour. In a bowl, whisk the eggs with the plain flour, add the soda, solamyl and a little salt.
Soak the onion rings in this mixture and fry them immediately in hot oil until golden brown. Then let them drain on paper towels. Use ketchup, tartar sauce or sour cream as a dip.
