Turnip is cooked like potatoes, peel it and cut into small cubes. Then cook for about 15 minutes in salted water.
After 15 minutes, try to prick the turnip with a fork. The turnip will be a little crunchy, but should be pretty soft. Drain the water from the pot and mash the turnips with a potato mash or mix, add butter, salt, pepper and grate the nutmeg.
